Cathy Malatesta - President
Ms. Catherine Malatesta is a highly accomplished international television producer with more than 25 years of success in designing market strategies and implementation, global distribution and securing partnerships both domestically and abroad. One of Ms. Malatesta’s greatest strength is her ability to lead, motivate and mentor multi-cultural production teams, and she easily establishes rapport within all levels of an organization.
Ms. Malatesta is currently the president of Lawless Entertainment, Inc., a development, finance and distribution consultation company for television in the global marketplace. As a full-service production consultant, Ms. Malatesta provides recommendations for funding for television and music investments, negotiates worldwide licensing and merchandising agreements, manages fundraising activities and develops global brand awareness campaigns.
As the senior vice president at Warner Brothers International Television Production, a global development, finance, production and distribution company, Ms. Malatesta created a new corporate division for the purpose of developing globally appealing television programming in partnership with broadcasters, governments and independent producers worldwide. In this role, she produced more than 200 hours of series, made for TV movies, documentaries and sitcom formats with over 10 partners worldwide, and sold programs to more than 140 countries. In addition, Ms. Malatesta produced the syndicated television series’ Police Academy; The New Adventures of Robin Hood for TNT; Terror in the Mall for Fox Network; the syndicated animated series, Zorro; and the sitcom Martin in partnership with TV Azteca/Mexico.
Prior to her position at Warner Brothers, Ms. Malatesta was the vice president and general manager of Westinghouse Broadcasting International, a global development, finance, production and distribution company. During her tenure, she created and managed in-house international production and produced documentary programs for Discovery Channel, Travel Channel and Lifetime Television, as well as over 300 hours of animation, made for TV movies and series both domestically and internationally. Ms. Malatesta’s most notable achievement was the production of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series, which generated more than $8 billion in gross sales worldwide.
In addition to these positions, Ms. Malatesta has been retained as a production consultant by numerous international entertainment companies, including Lagadere Media Group (France), Telefonica Media (Madrid, Spain), Lietuvo Kino Studios (Vilnius, Lithuania) and Global Media Televisions (Los Angeles, California).
Throughout her career, Ms. Malatesta has achieved a proven track record of utilizing a consultative approach to access key decision makers, creating synergistic relationships and implementing successful turnaround strategies, while effectively managing production costs.
Ms. Malatesta earned her bachelor’s degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
Bryan Taw - Vice-President
Bryan Taw has been in television production and distribution for over 15 years. He brings experience in working with companies both domestically and internationally in areas such as programming, marketing and distribution.
Recently Mr. Taw has been consulting with a variety of companies, doing extensive work on the distribution, marketing and merchandise licensing on several animation projects for both domestic and international production companies. He has also been working with companies on the distribution and marketing of films and live-action television series in the international market.
Previously Mr. Taw has worked at the Warner Bros. International Television Production Company where he first met Cathy Malatesta. He has also been the Production Coordinator at On The Scene Productions, where he oversaw the production and satellite distribution division.
Sondra Contino – Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Sondra Contino has more than fifteen years of marketing experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Mrs. Contino began her career in marketing with the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she oversaw the marketing and events to support the multi-million dollar fundraising efforts of the organization.
Sondra served as Director of Marketing & Events for Project Access, an Orange County-based nonprofit organization, where she developed and implemented a rebranding strategy for the organization, including executing the design of new collateral materials and website, public relations, researching and implementing various social media opportunities and more.
Sondra received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing and Advertising, from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
