Los Angeles, May 28, 2015 – Lawless Entertainment is delighted to announce their appointment as worldwide representative for Blabla Kids, a property targeted to children ages 2-8, for television co-production and distribution.
Blabla Kids creates contemporary hand knit dolls, accessories and home décor for children. Designed by Florence Wetterwald and handmade by Peruvian artisans, their products are eco-friendly, and made from natural fibers of exceptional quality, which makes them irresistibly soft and cuddly.
The product range continues to grow and now includes soft dolls, rattles, finger puppets, mobiles, and a home décor line called Petit Home which includes crib bedding, sheets and blankets, pillows and play pads.
These high quality products are currently sold at their flagship store in Atlanta, GA as well as nearly 50 countries worldwide. The company continues to honor the ethical principle upon which it was founded, engaging in environmentally friendly fair trade practices and commissioning rigorous third party testing of all fabric dyes, stuffing and small parts.
“After seeing explosive growth in sales over the last decade, we’re excited to see the brand enter into new markets,” says Joseph Strong, partner and CFO of Blabla Kids.
The Random House Books for Young Readers imprint of Random House Children’s Books will publish an original board book series based on the property beginning in Fall 2016. The first two titles, Peekaboo Pierre and Sleepy Little Wooly, feature Blabla Kids characters and simple toddler concepts. Two more titles will follow in 2017.
Designer Florence Wetterwald says, “I’m excited about seeing my characters coming to life through the upcoming books, and a possible TV series, showing their world and quirky habits. For years we have been creating a unique and distinct handmade environment for them in our catalogs, shop windows, website, and animated shorts, which we look forward to sharing with more people.”
The animated shorts, created by the Blabla Kids team in their design studio, are loved by children worldwide! These shorts can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/album/2862112.
Lawless Entertainment is working closely with the Blabla Kids team to develop an animated series featuring these lovely characters, and is currently seeking co-production partners for the project.
Dan Romanelli of Romy Consulting and Jen Kramer of Jenerosity Marketing will be handling worldwide licensing and merchandising for Blabla Kids.
Dan Romanelli, founder and former President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, became enamored with the incredible family of Blabla Kids and their uniqueness, colorful designs that distinguish this property from everything else in the market. “I soon realized that both children and adults were fans and collectors and stores could not keep them in stock. Each character features an endearing story and Blabla Kids felt like it was a perfect brand to develop into a series, either for the Internet, TV or both. Team Lawless agreed and we are delighted to add Lawless to the Blabla Kids team to help introduce this enchanting brand at LIMA.”
“Every now and then we come across a property that we find irresistible,” says Cathy Malatesta, President of Lawless Entertainment. “Blabla Kids is one of those properties. We are absolutely thrilled to work with the amazing team behind the property, and to share this treasure with the world!”
Blabla Kids will be featured at booth D031 during the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas. To schedule an appointment during the show, please contact Sondra Contino +1-949-419-6156 or [email protected].

About Blabla Kids
Blabla Kids was created in 2001 by Susan Pritchett and Florence Wetterwald, two good friends with the same philosophy of life and beauty.
While visiting Peru, they came across entire villages of expert knitters who had been keeping the tradition alive for generations. Inspired by their talent and touched by their gentle spirit, the two decided to start their own company of knitted products for children. They have now been collaborating with the same artisans for over a decade.
Joined by Florence’s husband, Joseph Strong, in 2003, the company has evolved into a close-knit group of friends and family with a mission to continue to inspire joy and laughter. With a commitment to fair trade and keeping environmental awareness in mind, Susan, Florence, and Joseph feel very lucky to be able to bring a little bit of tenderness to so many children every day.
