Mondo TV to Co-Produce and Distribute Animated Series based on Duckport Characters

San Diego, CA / Rome, Italy, June 22, 2015 – Lawless Entertainment is thrilled to announce that it has just concluded a production deal with Mondo TV on behalf of Suzy’s Zoo. Mondo TV will co-produce and distribute a new 2D HD animated series based on the “Adventures in Duckport” character set of Suzy’s Zoo.

The complete series will be composed of 52 x 11 minute episodes and will be distributed by Mondo TV worldwide, except North America.

Lawless Entertainment will handle worldwide licensing and merchandising (except for some territories reserved to Mondo TV group) as well as distribution in North America.

BBC veteran Theresa Plummer-Andrews will serve as script editor for the series. Theresa’s vast experience in the kid’s television series arena will play a crucial role in developing a successful series!

The “Adventures in Duckport” series will feature the original Suzy’s Zoo character set, which includes the duck Suzy Ducken and her friends Jack Quacker, Penelope O’Quinn, Corky Turtle and more. The series will be targeted to ages 4-8 and will follow the fun adventures of these adorable characters in which they interact with and show respect and love to the elder members of their community. Suzy, Jack, Penelope, Corky and all their friends will do their utmost to help their elderly neighbors, even if they end up in a pickle when doing so!

A sample of the Adventures in Duckport animated series will be showcased for the first time at MIPCOM 2015.

Theresa Plummer-Andrews, Managing Director of Plum Trees TV Limited, has known and admired the characters in the Suzy’s Zoo stable for some years and is delighted at being involved in bringing their adventures to the screen for children to enjoy.

About Suzy’s Zoo
Suzy’s Zoo was established in 1968 by award-winning San Diego artist, Suzy Spafford. Deriving from Suzy’s own childhood memories, it evokes the spirit of a time when kids were free to explore their surroundings and have adventures of their own making.

The stories begin when Suzy Ducken and her next-door neighbor Jack Quacker decide to build a tree fort in the big old tree between their houses. Their adventures are about invention, involvement, cooperation, sharing, and exploration—and involve junkyards, tools, dirt, attics filled with old stuff, school, family, chores, the other interesting characters in the town of Duckport, and a sense of belonging to a widely mixed community of animal folk.
